Student Support Services

Lincoln School District is committed to meeting the academic and social emotional learning needs of all students.

  • Through the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) Students with disabilities may be eligible for Individual Education Programs (IEP) which means that they require specially designed instruction to address the area of disability.

  • Through the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, students eligible through Section 504 are identified with a disability (short term or long term) that substantially limits a major life activity. Section 504 requires that schools assure that their facilities and services are accessible to individuals with disabilities, including students, staff, parents, and community members.

  • Educational Support Teams are comprised of educators, school staff and families to develop student support plans for students who have been identified as having challenges in school that require a team approach.

Child Find

Under the IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act), the Lincoln School District is committed to providing all educationally disabled children between the ages of two and a half and twenty-one years of age, who live within the district, with a free and appropriate public education. Eligible students who have left school prior to graduating have a right to return to receive services until graduation or until they turn twenty-one years of age. A disabled student who does not qualify for services under IDEA may qualify for accommodations under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
