Wow! What an amazing start to the 24-25 school year. It is hard to believe that we are already in the middle of October with the soccer season coming to an end, warmer jackets in the morning, and crisp leaves to play in during recess. My love and excitement for our school continues to grow the more I engage with your children and the amazing staff at LCS.

My first hike day was absolutely the best, climbing to the top of Mount Abe with many of our 6th graders left me smiling for days.It is remarkable to watch our sixth grade leaders forming relationships with our newest community members in kindergarten. The multiage play and learning time is a unique and impactful experience that honors much of what our community is about. Listening to one another, laughing, taking risks, and supporting each other is ever present. Morning arrival, morning recess, book buddies, and common morning meetings are times in our schedule where multiage play and interaction is intentional.

We are well into our routine of Common Morning Meeting on Tuesdays. We use this time to connect across all grade levels on topics that are important to our entire community, we are currently focusing on mindfulness. As a school community, we appreciate your attention to our arrival routines and dropping your children off at the side door (if before 8:00am). This adjustment has allowed all children to get breakfast if they would like and enjoy the fresh air before starting their day.

Thank you to Buzz Kuhn for photographing our school community. You can expect a link from Matt this week with an opportunity to purchase your child’s picture. We will reach out when a retake day has been scheduled. Thank you for your continued partnership.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me anytime (bking@lincolnsd.org, 802-453-7822).

In partnership,

Brooke
