APRIL 15, 2024

Good morning! Is Spring really here this time?!  As we head into our Spring break, I thought I would share a few upcoming events and reminders.

This week is a busy week for us!

  • This week we are wrapping up our work with Vermont children’s book author, Natalie Kinsey-Warnock.  Thank you Natalie and thank you to the Friends of LCS for supporting this opportunity for LCS students!

  • We are looking forward to welcoming new students and their parents at Kindergarten registration day on Wednesday morning.  Thank you Tiffany Dennison and Carolyn Brown for their work on making that day such a welcoming event for our new students!

  • On Thursday we invite everyone to the student performance of Peter Pan at Burnham Hall for our 1PM or 6PM shows.  Thank you to the Very Merry Theatre and our very own Maureen Rotax for leadership and support of this program.

Our own Cat Mannigan has launched the You Plant We Plant program which represents a partnership between LCS and ForestNation. Our grade 3 and 4 students will be selling tree kits to raise funds for our school’s sustainability garden project. In addition, for each tree kit sold, ForestNation will plant 10 more in areas around the world that have been hit hard by deforestation and industrial agriculture. Tree kits will be distributed starting May 8th. For more information or any questions, please contact Cat (cmannigan@lincolnsd.org).

It is enrollment season so just sending a reminder to visit our Universal Pre-K page if you are enrolling your student in that program and to visit our Grades 7-12 School Choice page and follow the steps outlined on that page to ensure that your middle or high school student is properly enrolled for the 24/25 school year.

The week after April break we will be hosting Brooke King at a few events.  Brooke will be officially taking on the role of LCS principal in July. She will be spending time with our faculty and staff on Wednesday afternoon and she will be introduced to the full school at the Thursday assembly on May 2.  Following the assembly, we will host a drop in session in our school library.  Please feel free to come by Thursday morning and welcome Brooke to our community!
