Dear LCS community,

It has been a little while since my last newsletter, but I am happy to write this one to you being an AddisonCounty resident again! While the long commute gave me many hours to think about the work ahead, I am entirely grateful to live a short distance from school and have more opportunities to engage with the community outside of school hours!

This winter we will once again have the opportunity for all of our students to engage in skiing during the school day. Please be on the lookout for dates and more information about the specifics for your child’s opportunity. K-2 will be going to Rikerts and 3-6 will be going to the Snowbowl! We will also keep a watchful eye on the temperature as we prepare for our outdoor adventures. We will not be going outside for these activities or other activities (including recess) if it is below zero. With that being said, please make sure that your child comes prepared to be outside. If you are in need of winter gear, reach out to your child’s teacher.

Lastly, you will be receiving your child’s first report card of the 2024-2025 school year, this Friday, January 24th. They will come home in your child’s backpack. A letter will accompany the report card. Similarto last year, we are continuing to build the report card that best suits the work of our students and teachers, as well as easily communicates to families about areas of achievement and growth. With any work in progress, we welcome and appreciate your feedback and questions.

We have an exciting 2nd half of the school year ahead. I look forward to seeing you here at LCS for our many wonderful events!

In partnership, Brooke King
