Aug 26 2024 - First Day of School!

Dear families and friends,

What an amazing start to the 2024-2025 school year!  We are so grateful to have your children back at LCS!  Today was the first day that we cooked and served our own breakfast.  Thank you to Saige for the delicious pumpkin bread, cheese, and banana to start the morning.  The bread was a huge hit!  A slight change to our breakfast routine is that children can enter the building as early as 7:35 to have breakfast.  We will serve breakfast until 8:00 a.m.  The school lunch menu is also posted on our website for your convenience.  While I will not usually send out a weekly message, I may communicate more at first to ensure you know about all of the wonderful things happening.  We will hold our first assembly this Thursday morning.  In addition, we will plan to hold our first fire drill and practice our evacuation on Friday (weather permitting).  We are required to schedule practice drills for fire, lock down, and evacuation throughout the year.  I will communicate with families the week these will occur.  Please see below for soccer information and registration.  Hope to see you Thursday at assembly.

In partnership,

Brooke

Hi LCS Families

Youth soccer is a great way for children to learn sportspersonship, teamwork, build friendships, get exercise, and of course - the game of Soccer. All students are welcome at every grade level, all soccer teams at LCS are co-ed. School sports are important to the fabric of a rural school, these teams are accessible to everyone.

Teams are as Follows: PreK & K (must be age 4 and up), 1/2, 3/4, 5/6.

K doesn't have organized games vs. other schools, the other teams have both home and away games. Coaches of each LCS team will be in contact with parents of players via email throughout the season communicating when/where times and weather cancellations.

Shin guards are required, cleats are helpful starting at grades 1/2.

Lincoln Sports has an online registration. Below you'll see a link for the Lincoln Sports soccer page, scroll down to the practice/game calendar.  If you click on each notation, details pop-up. This is live calendar and will be edited often throughout the season to accommodate games, weather reschedules, etc. Games are not yet listed on the schedule, they're still being organized with the other towns.
